SHELL Reveals Fuel of the Future
Diesel is no longer the ‘dirty’ fuel it once was, declares Mr John Rasmussen, UK Director of retail operations at Shell. “We are introducing a diesel which is designed to actually give the modern engine more power and keep delivering that power as the miles clock up. This is done by continuously cleaning the modern injection systems that diesel engines have, and that will help them to operate at their best.”
A report commissioned by Shell shows that the number of UK drivers using diesel has doubled in less than six years to seven million. It also predicts that there will be 16 million diesel cars on the road by 2020 as drivers look to maximise fuel efficiency.
“I think the fact that C02 emissions are better in diesel will certainly give it a better reputation in the future,” Mr Rasmussen concludes in a recent statement.
