FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Copper-Brass Heat Exchangers Are Now “Brazed in Punjab” in Northwest India
GS Radiators in Ludhiana Adopts CuproBraze Technology
New York, NY (February 27, 2007) – CuproBraze® is a breakthrough process for brazing radiators, charge-air coolers, oil coolers, heaters and climate control products. Throughout the world, OEMs and end-users are benefiting from the exceptional quality and superior offerings the technology provides. GS Radiators of Ludhiana, India is just the latest progressive company to begin production of CuproBraze heat exchangers.
Ludhiana, a city of 2.5 million people, is located in Punjab state in the Northwest of India. Good roads, railways, airports and rivers make this region and attractive base for business and manufacturing operations. Founded in 1988, GS Radiators has utilized these resources to grow from a small, local operation to a global supplier of heat-exchanger systems. Today its 237 employees are set produce more than 200,000 units of copper-brass radiators in 2007. The company first learned about CuproBraze from Luvata, one of its primary raw material suppliers, in 2002. According to Ranjodh Singh, chairman and managing director, GS Radiators, “We saw that brazing results in superior products and realized that GS Radiators must adopt CuproBraze to remain competitive. As a brazing process, CuproBraze can make heat exchangers that are inherently more durable than soldered copper-brass and also superior to aluminum products.” The company has completed the establishment of its first CuproBraze production line and plans to begin delivering products in the near future.
Radiators are crucial for dispersing thermal energy (heat) from the engine’s coolant. In order for them to operate efficiently and effectively, they must provide excellent thermal conductivity, strength and durability. The new CuproBraze technology provides flexibility of design with superior thermal performance.
